Hack the holidays

Discover more hacks below to make the most out of baby’s first summer and get ready to Hack the holidays!

Hack 1: Brush up on your sun safety

Although it’s important to practice sun safety, applying sun cream to a wriggly baby is not always straight forward! Apply sun cream to baby using a clean, soft make-up brush – it’ll help with getting into those places which are tricky to reach and leave you feel assured baby is fully covered and help avoid suncream stains on baby’s clothes.

Hack 2: A gift a day keeps boredom away…

If you’re heading away for a few nights, keep a few small toys hidden away the week leading up to your trip. Whilst away from home, introduce one of these toys each day. By giving baby a different toy each day, it’ll keep them distracted from the goings on around them. Sensory toys are the best option to keep baby as engaged as possible during long journeys.

Hack 3: Changing on the go

When you have to change your baby’s nappy whilst on the go and do not have access to a dedicated changing area, use the poppers from the bottom of a baby grow to keep your baby’s arms in place. This way you can avoid any wriggling arms creating any mess with dirty nappies and get the change done quickly.

Hack 4: Washbag playtime

Use a fold up washbag with plastic pockets for easy access to your baby's toys when on a plane journey. Simply fill the different pockets with their favourite bits, hook on to the seat in front and voila! an easily accessible, tidy storage solution full of surprises to keep baby occupied (and quiet) during the flight!

Hack 5: Sandy toes be gone!

Pack a little corn flour in your beach baby bag as it's one of the best ways to remove stubborn sand from in between little toes (and big toes!), in fact all areas of the body. Simply let baby air dry a little after being in the water and then generously apply the flour to any area where sand is still sticking, wipe off the excess and it will be like you were never at the beach at all!
