Tips
- Stores well in an airtight tin for up to a week and can be enjoyed by all the family.
- Serve with Strawberry smoothie for a healthy balanced breakfast or snack.
Ingredients
- 50g oats (or you can use gluten free oats, buckwheat flakes, amaranth flakes, quinoa flakes or millet flakes)
- 100g dried apricots, finely chopped
- 150g pitted dates, finely chopped
- 1 rounded teaspoon peanut or almond butter (optional)

Method
- Preheat oven to 180°C/fan 160°C/Gas 4.
- Put all the ingredients into a bowl and mix well, then blend together using clean hands until it forms a paste and all the ingredients are evenly mixed.
- Press the mixture evenly onto baking tray lined with baking paper to make a 13–14cm square.
- Cook the bars for 12–15 minutes until golden.
- Remove from the oven and cut into six one way and two the other to make 12 bars.
- Leave to cool and serve.
