Perfect picnic

Planning the perfect picnic

Enjoying a picnic as a family is a great way to make the most of those warmer days, but finding suitable picnic spots, getting the packing list right and everything in between can feel overwhelming.

Research* with 1,000 parents found that:

  • 66% of parents plan to go on a picnic with their baby this summer
  • 70% struggle to find areas with baby-friendly amenities
  • 79% of parents have missed out on a day trip due to how complicated and time-consuming it is to get out the front door

We want to help make precious outdoor time with your baby as easy as possible, starting with the ultimate British summer adventure – a picnic!

Find the perfect picnic location for you and baby

The first hurdle of a picnic is where to go! We have created a bespoke Picnic Locator which can help you identify the most convenient local picnic spots to enjoy in your chosen location.

The picnic spots can then be filtered by amenities our research found are most valued by parents – toilets; children’s play areas; parking & cafes.

How to use the Picnic Locator?

  • Simply put in a postcode or area into the search bar
  • Wait for the results to load
  • Choose a travel mode – walk, public transport or drive. Dependent on your travel mode, it will change the search area and the time it takes to get to the picnic locations
  • Select any must-have amenities to filter your results
  • Check out the results & click on your chosen picnic spot to get directions in Google Maps

Get some inspiration on new picnic spots, check out the amenities and get prepared to picnic knowing your picnic spot should be well set up for a great summer adventure with your baby.

Our Picnic Event

To celebrate National Picnic Week, Aptamil Follow On Milk Ready To Drink held a fun-filled picnic experience, designed to help parents with babies aged 6 to 12 months enjoy an easy summer adventure. It featured picnic food, baby classes including Baby Yoga, expert talks including a talk from Heidi Skudder (The Parent and Baby Coach), and much more. It was held on Saturday 24th June in the iconic Regent’s Park, London.

To ensure no parent is missing out on summer adventures with their babies, Aptamil Follow On Milk Ready to Drink has also launched a free Picnic Locator, to help parents who were unable to attend the picnic experience plan their own picnic.

Please see our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions relating to this event.

Important notice

Breastfeeding is best for babies. Infant formula is suitable from birth when babies are not breastfed. Follow-on milk is only for babies over 6 months, as part of a mixed diet and should not be used as a breastmilk substitute before 6 months. We advise that all formula milks including the decision to start weaning should be made on the advice of a doctor, midwife, health visitor, public health nurse, dietitian, pharmacist or other professional responsible for maternal and child care, based on baby’s individual needs.

Do not use if your baby has been diagnosed with a cow's milk allergy.

Use Toddler Milk as part of a varied balanced diet from 1 year.
